Who We Are |
Jerrick's Lower East Side, established 1973 as Jerrick's Drugs. A family-owned business started by Seymour and Dorothy Stone, along with daughter Michele and son-in-law Ricky Brettholtz. Jerrick's became a local pharmacy with a friendly, family atmosphere.
Son Rick Stone was added full time after graduating college and he worked on bringing a new shopping experience to the Hudson Valley. Adding a city feel to the mix with brand name closeouts and generics at low prices, a new type of business was created. Jerrick's began selling everything from toys to tools, to lottery and greeting cards at prices not even seen in big discount stores. The merchandise selection was being expanded while keeping that "home town" feel. Jerrick's truly became a unique store. It didn't take long for Jerrick's to be named the area's best discount store by Hudson Valley Magazine voters. This is something we're very proud of, and we hope to always live up to our customers' expectations of superior products at bargain prices. We at Jerrick's also give back to the community. Aside from local charity donations, we also have an annual food drive in conjunction with Harry Hughes. "Thanksgiving in April" has brought in truck loads of food and other essentials to be donated to those in need. We're thrilled that our customers have been so generous to our cause. Rick has also worked with John Jay's Renaissance program for five years in his...spare time. Many of our customers have become our good friends. We've watched their families grow generation to generation, and we've celebrated births, graduations and marriages. Through good and bad times, we've smiled, laughed and cried together. We'd like you all to know that running Jerrick's has not only been a business transaction for us, it's also been a personal connection. We love seeing our friends on a daily basis. We enjoy being a part of your lives, and having you as part of ours.
A personal note from Rick. |
